ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

More than 500 graduates walked the stage at the Albany Civic center Thursday night.

Albany Technical College students earned nearly 220 associate's degrees and more than 1,000 technical certificates this semester.

Many of the graduates are set to work on secondary degrees, while some are ready to hit the workforce.

"I'm working on a wig line for cancer patients," said Laconya Willis. "Especially for kids and people with Alopecia."

"Well its just the first step," said Bryan Davis. "I have many more years to come. I don't know where it might lead to, but I just want to give back and help people out."

The Keynote speaker was Dr. Angela Hines-Brown. She was the 2016 Instructor of the Year for the Technical College System of Georgia.
