ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County students created artwork inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior.

38 entries in the Children of the Dream art contest were on display tonight at Thronateeska Heritage Center.

This year's theme was "All dreams matter"

Thursday night prizes were given out in the High school and middle school divisions.

"In the past they have given them cash, and cash is great," said Executive Director of the Renaissance Connection Femi Anderson. "But we wanted to make sure they were using it for the purpose of art. So  we give art supplies to them as prizes."

This is the third year Renaissance Connection hosted the awards ceremony.

You can check out the art at Thronateeska.
