THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A public hearing was held Wednesday to discuss Sunday alcohol sales in Thomasville.

This is one of many meetings the city will hold to get feedback about Sunday alcohol sales.

There are two things being discussed, Sundays sales of alcohol in stores and then Sunday consumption which would allow restaurants and bars to sell drinks by the glass.

"Tonight is a public hearing, its one of many we will hold to see what the public or community feels or how they feel about this issue. We want people to come out and let us know if its something they would like to have the opportunity to vote on," said Sheryl Sealy, City of Thomasville.

Based on community feedback, the Council will then decide whether to call for a referendum.

The earliest that the issue of Sunday alcohol sales and/or consumption could come before local voters would be March 2017.
