ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A house on Albany's south side appears to be a total loss, after an early morning blaze. Firefighters were still on the scene of a fire on West Second Avenue when this call came.
When they arrived at 2210 Willingham Drive, the house was 90 percent involved in flames, according to Battalion Chief Keith Ambrose. He said the call came in at 6:06 a.m.
Officers had to force their way inside, due to locked gates.
It looks as if the home, just south of the Albany Airport, was vacant. Ambrose doesn't believe anyone was inside.
It took 31 minutes to put the fire out.
So far, there is no word on the cause of the fire.
The fire investigator will inspect this structure when the investigation of the earlier 2nd Avenue fire is done.
