ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County Youth Orchestra held its 20th annual Winter Concert Tuesday night at Albany State University.

More than 75 students performed Christmas classics.

The orchestra is comprised of middle and high school students from public, private and home schools.

The music director said that the orchestra teaches students discipline, character, commitment and teamwork.

"It's been a really good experience. I've grown so much as a musician just learning how to play with other people and it's really enjoyable, it's much more fun than staying in a practice room by yourself," said Concert Master Hannah Kendrick.

The orchestra's next concert will take place on May 9th.
