ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Christmas Parade organizers said that Saturday's event was one of the best ever.
They estimate close to 40,000 people attended the 26th Annual Celebration Of Lights Christmas Parade.
That's not record attendance, but it's close.
There were approximately 100 floats, bands and other entries.
Organizers said that the cooler weather attracted folks from around the region to Albany to kick off the Christmas season.
"It's the single most attended event on one night in Albany, Georgia. And like I say it's become almost a statewide event. So people are not just here from Albany," said Parade Coordinator Lorie Farkas.
Farkas thanked the hundreds of volunteers who worked to put on the Christmas parade and said work will start on next year's parade soon.
