The Georgia recreation and parks association state soccer tournament wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Remington Park in Thomasville.
On the co-ed level, the Lee County All-stars finished 2nd in the state for 7U.
Their coach believes finishes like these should improve the soccer scene in south Georgia.
"I would hope that it would boost funds to get better soccer fields," said Juberto Fransisco. "Better equipment, or maybe promote children to come and play some more. There's a lot of talent."
The Thomasville YMCA team finished 2nd in 10U, and the squad from Fitzgerald were state runner ups in 14U.
