ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Folks are working through the night at a major south Georgia credit union so it can return to business as usual on Friday.

DoCo Credit Union is implementing a system upgrade that caused some inconvenience for customers on Thursday.

The credit union used multiple means over several months to let customers know that branches would be closed on Thursday, online banking would be inaccessible and there may be limits on debit card use but some customers were still caught off guard.

"They just decided that during cyber shopping week that they would affect the electronic transaction system when people are trying to buy Christmas gifts and you know get these great deals," said DoCo customer Joe Mason.

DoCo officials said they regret the inconvenience, and they know the timing was bad but it was the only time they could complete the work.
