ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Georgia State Patrol troopers want to make Christmas morning brighter for South Georgia kids in need.
Troopers from across South Georgia began their Toys For Tots campaign Wednesday, collecting toys and money at Walmart on Ledo Road.
This is the tenth year the Georgia State Patrol has teamed with the Marine Corps Reserves for Toys for Tots.
"Out of caring, out of love, and out of heart we try to team together and get with the community. And see if we can get some toys. So the community can give out to the children, and make their Christmas morning something memorable," said Sgt. First Class John VanLandingham, GSP.
The troopers will collect Thursday at the Americus Walmart and Friday in Bainbridge.
There will be a Toys For Tots Run in Thomasville Friday and a Motorcycle Ride in Albany Saturday starting at the Old Harvey's Parking lot in the 300 block of North Slappey at 10 a.m.
You can also drop off donations at the Albany GSP post through December 15th.
