SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

The GBI is investigating after a man's body was found in a vacant house on Sumner Lane in Sylvester Tuesday night about 9:00.

Wednesday morning, Sylvester Police identified the man as Erin Bernard Burgess, 23, whose last known address was in Albany.

Burgess' body was taken to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy in Macon.

This case is being treated as a homicide at this time, pending leads and evidence.
