ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some Albany Tech College students and faculty got special recognition on Tuesday night.

Jamekia Collins, Tonyari Scott and Lise Adams-Mason were named the school's finalists for the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership.

All 22 technical colleges in the state participate in the GOAL competition.

"The students are academically gifted. They are the ones who do the best job in the classroom and the lab. And then they prepare themselves for public speaking and presentation. And the faculty are those individuals who accomplish great things through their students," said ATC President Anthony Parker.

The GOAL finalists will be interviewed by an Albany Chamber of Commerce panel in January.

The winner will compete for the state award.

Also, Lynn Miller was named Albany Tech's Instructor of the Year and Elouise Williams was named the EAGLE winner.
