ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two suspected violent armed robbers are facing dozens of additional charges as prosecutors build a case against them.
Javarious Mallory and Anthony Parks were captured after a standoff in in the 900 block of North Madison Street two weeks ago.
They were charged with two counts of armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, and probation violation. Now Mallory faces 26 more counts of similar crimes, and Anthony Parks, Junior faces 19 more similar counts.
Both are being held without bond.
Mallory and Parks are accused of eight armed robberies, they shot clerks in two instances. They were tracked down through investigating their known associates, and then went to go into the apartment where they were believed to be hiding out.
The deputies found Mallory hiding inside a dryer, and Parks was hiding in the attic.
District Attorney Greg Edwards said that if convicted the two could face life in prison. "There is a pretty significant potential sentence that is in this particular circumstance," said Edwards. "And yes the state is going to be asking for that. Because again we cannot tolerate this type of conduct."
Parks' brother and girlfriend were arrested and charged with harboring the two wanted men, they also made their first appearances before a judge on Friday.
