A high school football team's success forces a change to a south Georgia Christmas parade.
The undefeated Crisp County Cougars continue their quest for the school's first ever state championship this Friday.
That game conflicts with the Lion's Club Christmas Parade that was set for Friday at 6 p.m.
Now, the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce and Lion's Club are adjusting the schedule so the entire town can support the Cougars as they hit the field for the state semifinals.
"We hope to have the football team in the parade, and hopefully have that state championship, but if not, we'll still want them there so we can just show our gratitude for all they've done this year," said Monica Simmons, the chamber's president.
The Cordele Christmas Parade is now scheduled for Saturday, December 17 at 10 a.m.
It costs $20 per entry for the parade. The money raised goes to the Lion's Club.
For information on how to enter, call the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce at (229) 273-1668.
