South Georgia Tech (8-1) was one game way from exiting its Thanksgiving Classic flawless, but also undefeated Pensacola State (9-0) had other plans.
The Lady Jets fell to the Lady Pirates 62-56 Sunday night in Americus.
Head coach James Frey believes his team could've given a better effort in the second half, including the 4th quarter where they trailed the whole way.
Frey believes improvement will start in the practice gym.
"My assistant and I have to provide energy at practice," said Frey. "We have 5 or 6 sophomores on this team who should be leading us that should be out here giving us energy trying to get better, and right now we're kind of stagnant."
"We've got some work to do. If we're going to be where we want to be at the end of the year we've better go to work. Right now that starts in practice. and when you don't do it in practice this happens in games."
The Lady Jets will look to bounce back when they host Santa Fe College Wednesday night in the Hangar.
