ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Investigators with the Dougherty County Police Department went to the power plant adjacent to the Albany Procter & Gamble manufacturing facility on US 19.

Officials say the plant was temporarily locked down, while they investigated a threatening note, according to DCP. They said that someone left a note in the plant that threatened "a shooting at 9:00 this morning."

The note was found and police notified about 9:30.

The company that runs the power plant, Exelon Generation, issued this statement Tuesday-

Today, Exelon Generation became aware of a potential security issue at their combined heat and power plant adjacent to the Procter & Gamble paper manufacturing facility in Albany, GA and notified the local law enforcement.

Exelon and site security, in close cooperation with P&G and local law enforcement are executing a heightened security plan as a precaution.

Exelon is committed to the safety and security of its employees, contracted employees and facilities. Security and local law enforcement have now released the site to normal operations.
