DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - 126 drivers were cited or arrested over the weekend during Operation Rolling Thunder in Albany.
The Governor's Office of Highway Safety worked with Albany Police and Georgia State Patrol troopers in a 3-day crackdown on Albany roads.
Thursday, the task force concentrated on distracted driving.
Friday and Saturday, they set up road checks across the county.
The task force made 61 DUI arrests and 24 drug arrests.
They issued 22 distracted driving citations, and 78 citations for people not wearing seat belts.
The task force also captured two wanted fugitives and made two felony arrests.
Governor's Office of Highway Safety officials said they felt the operation was a success, making Albany streets safer right before the Thanksgiving Holiday.
