ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A man in Albany wanted to start the giving season by helping others fill their Thanksgiving table.
Michael Fowler, the Dougherty County coroner, handed out 200 turkeys to people in the community Saturday.
Two truck beds were loaded down with the holiday bird.
A long line formed in the parking lot of Highland Park.
Fowler said he was happy to help others in need.
"I just love the community. I love Albany. So many bad things go on in Albany, so I want to do something positive in Albany. That's what I wanted to do, I wanted to give back. I think it's a blessing to be able to give to someone else," said Fowler.
Fowler did hand out all 200 turkeys.
People that received one were excited to have a festive meal for the holiday.
