Thomasville stores open Sunday for holiday shopping

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

If you like shopping in Downtown Thomasville, this weekend you'll have an extra day to make those first holiday purchases.

Around 40 businesses will be open on Sunday as part of the Downtown Open House event.

Organizers said the event brought out a big crowd last year.

"The Holiday Open House has been such a great success, it was a great economic boost last year. The locals and visitors love it, its a great opportunity to come and get your holiday shopping started here in downtown Thomasville," said Main Street Director, April Norton.

This year, the visitors center is hosting drawings for downtown dollars gift certificates as part of the event.
