Shed fire spreads to grass at Dougherty Co. home

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Firefighters responded to a fire in the 3600 block of Gravel Hill Road around 3:30 Thursday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire started in the shed behind the house and quickly spread to the grass.

Albany Fire Department received the call after a passerby saw the flames.

When firefighters arrived, they unchained three dogs to keep them out of harm's way.

All three dogs are fine and nobody was home at the time according to AFD.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire and are still trying to get in touch with the owners.
