ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two people now face harboring charges after Dougherty County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men they believe may be involved in a string of robberies after a brief standoff.
Antravious Parks, 20, and Kourtnei Wright, 29, are both being charged with hindering apprehension.
Deputies conducted a search for wanted robbery suspects in the north central part of the city on Thursday.
Javarious Mallory, 23, and Anthony Leon Parks, Jr., 25, were wanted on multiple counts of armed robbery.
Mallory was arrested when officials arrived at the scene, but Anthony refused to come out of the home.
Officers shut down the road until the SWAT team was called in.
"Instead of us risking deputies going up there," said Captain Ken Faust of the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office. "We call in people who are specially trained to do that."
Anthony was arrested after a brief standoff.
Authorities have been looking for these two suspects for a week, in connection with armed robberies at multiple businesses.
Anthony and Mallory are suspected of robbing businesses on West Gordon Avenue, Cordele Road and Gillionville Road.
Antravious is Anthony's brother and Wright is his girlfriend, according to police, Wright allowed the two to stay at her apartment.
Antravious, Anthony, Mallory and Wright have all been taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
