AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Georgia Southwestern's home opening doubleheader against Auburn Montgomery spewed mixed results.
The Lady Canes led by one entering the 4th, but were outscored 25-14 in the final frame dropping their season opener 60-51.
The Lady Warhawks made their only three 3-pointers of the game in the 4th quarter.
"They got some wide open looks, penetration and everything," said 10th year head coach Kelly Britsky. "We tried to stop the first half they hit late, and once they got ahead it was really hard to try to get that back."
The men's game would follow, and the Canes were victorious 62-49.
The men and women have a double header at Albany State on Saturday. The Lady Canes have a game Friday night at Fort Valley State.
