CAIRO, GA (WALB) - It's the postseason in high school football.
This is the time of the year where every team hopes to be at its best, and this past week no team was more dominant than Cairo, earning them the WALB team of the week.
Cairo welcomed Baldwin to Syrup Country with a shellacking.
Their defense didn't allow a single point in the 43-2 first round victory.
The only score Baldwin mustered up came by way of a safety.
The Syrup Makers dominance is a continuation of how they ended the regular season.
Cairo is riding a 9-game winning streak, and has won by double digits in each of its last four outings.
They will need a similar performance at home in round 2 next week as they host Sandy Creek from Tyrone Georgia.
