ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

People picked up their T-shirts and registered to participate in the Albany area YMCA's 31st Annual Holiday Chili Run.

Runners will be able to run in one the mile, five mile, and 15K races Saturday to raise money for youth sports programs and buy new equipment.

So far, 50 percent more people are signed up to run over last year.

"This is a wonderful community event you know to for folks to come out and get involved in something that's good. That they're going to realize the benefits of leading an active, healthy lifestyle for body, mind and spirit," said Dan Gillian, YMCA Chief Executive Officer.

The run starts Saturday at 8 a.m. behind the main YMCA location.
