Bainbridge man tries to run during pot arrest

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

A Bainbridge officer made a traffic stop Tuesday, and smelled marijuana coming from Todd Sharod Davis, Junior's car.

Officer Jayson Myers called for backup as a crowd gathered close by, and searched Davis' car.  He found a large, vacuum sealed brick of green marijuana, valued at over $1,000, and a plastic tub containing another large bag of marijuana, and bags commonly used to package illegal narcotics.    

Myers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a large, vacuum sealed brick of green marijuana with a street value of over $1,000, as well as plastic tub containing another large bag of marijuana and an assortment of unused clear plastic baggies commonly used to package illegal narcotics.

As he was being arrested, Davis broke loose, and ran 20 feet before Jackson tackled and cuffed him. 

Davis, 21, was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Felony Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Felony Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a Park or Housing Project, and Misdemeanor Obstructing or Hindering Officers.
