Dawson restaurant owner reacts to Sunday alcohol sales

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The owner of a restaurant in Dawson is happy voters there approved Sunday alcohol sales.

The liquor by the drink referendum passed with 67 percent of the vote.

San Joe's Mexican Restaurant is one of two restaurants that will benefit initially.

The owner believes it will increase his sales by 15 percent.

"That's another income that's going to be coming in so it helps the business a lot, not just mine but any other business in Dawson," said Ramiro Alvarez.

A few miles down the road, Sasser approved the sale of beer and wine in stores on Sundays with 85-percent saying yes.
