Thomasville Police search for suspect in overnight home invasion

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville family woke up in the middle of night to the sound of gunshots in their home. 

Officers responded to a home on Luci street Wednesday morning around 4:45.

While the family was sleeping, someone broke in through their front door.

They also told police someone fired shots into their home.

Luckily, no one was injured, but police said a child was sleeping in the living room where this happened.

"There was a child at the location, the child was not harmed, the child was in the living room where the shots were fired and that child is being interviewed at the treehouse," said Capt. Maurice Holmes, TPD.

Witnesses said they saw two men run out and jump into a dodge pickup truck.
