ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Republican State representative Gerald Greene will keep his seat in District 151, but it was an unusual race that got some national attention.
Kenneth Zachary ran as an independent after the democratic nominee was disqualified because of a redistricting error.
He was endorsed by President Obama, but said that his late arrival in the race hurt him.
He said he is disappointed but will not stop doing his part in the community.
"I think this was kind of like he's my buddy I'm going to favor, I'm going to vote for him. But still the facts remain. We have problems and issues that needs to be addressed from the state level in district 151," said Zachary.
Kenneth did spend time with other democrats Tuesday to watch the other races.
