VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Police Department’s Burglary unit has been working several Burglary investigations that began in September.

The crimes began with Miller Hardware located at 104 South Lee Street, on September 25.

Then on October 13, the Christian Love Bible Church reported a break-in at 526 Griffin Avenue.

On October 25, the Dollar Generals on Northside Drive was burglarized.

Five days later, Powerhouse Outdoors on Bemiss Road was hit.

The Pecan Factory on S. Lee Street was struck next.

These cases were turned over to the Valdosta Police Department’s Bureau of Investigations' Burglary Unit.  During the investigation, the Burglary Unit was able to develop clear evidence to file charges for Gregory Morrison, Jr., 37.

Morrison has since been arrested, and is in custody at the Lowndes County Jail.

"This was a lengthy investigation by the Valdosta Police Department but through the cooperation of the business owners and the hard work of officers and detectives of the police department, we apprehended this offender before he could victimize more business owners," said VPD Lieutenant Adam Bembry.
