ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Democrat Jim Barksdale is hoping to upset Isakson on Tuesday or at least to send the Senate race into a runoff.
Barksdale said he wants to focus on addressing the student debt crisis and protecting social security.
For Southwest Georgia, Barksdale hopes to build infrastructure projects to improve the economy.
"I think this is an election of our lifetime. It's more than an election about the names, it's more than an election just about the issues, although the issues are vital important. It's really a moral choice. Are we going to be a country that tries to walk down a path of division or are we going to walk down a path that says we're all together," said Barksdale.
Barksdale will spend election night at the Georgia Democratic Party watch party in Atlanta.
