CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - Crisp County had a higher early voting turnout this year than the last presidential election.
Nearly half of active, registered voters in the county early voted over the past few weeks.
4,830 voters hit the polls prior to Election Day, out of the about 10-thousand active registered voters.
Becky Perkins, Crisp County's Election Supervisor, said Monday that it is a good sign for our nation.
"We want our candidates and our government to know we're here and we're watching," said Perkins. "That's a way to let them know they're accountable to us, by seeing how many people come out and vote."
The polls across Georgia open Tuesday, November 8, at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
