ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State fell in straight sets to Claflin Sunday afternoon in a match that lasted barely over an hour.
The loss was a spoiler for senior day, but it does not end the Lady Rams SIAC championship hopes.
ASU dropped to (10-7) in conference play, falling in its 3rd straight match, but the team has already clinched a berth to the SIAC tournament as a 4-seed.
In her last home game at HPER gym, senior Kailyn Fuller admitted it wasn't the result the team hoped for.
"It didn't go the way we wanted to because we lost," said the outside hitter. "But at the same time we all fought hard, we didn't give up, we dug deep. We just have to fight harder next time."
Next time, if there is one, would be in Birmingham, Alabama for the SIAC tournament which starts November 16th.
The Lady Rams close the regular season at Clark Atlanta on Wednesday.
