ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A group college students walked away with awards for their art Friday night.
The Albany Area Arts Council held its 13th annual Southwest Georgia College Art Exhibition.
Students from Valdosta State, Albany State, and Darton College displayed their artwork.
Two winners were excited to showcase their work.
"I think it's that little source of validation that kind of that you may of sort of have self doubt or you kind of think like oh I don't know if this is the thing I should be doing but when people respond to your work in a really positive way that makes you feel like okay I made the right decision," said Zach Steele, VSU student.
"A lot of people were like ahh you did a great job and you're so detailed and I love it. And I'm just like thank you I did put a lot of work into it, it took me so long so thank you," said Tushawn Bailey.
Artwork was judged on initial impact, technique, and "wow" factor.
