ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Utilities crews installed new Christmas lights downtown.

This year, there will be different themes on different streets including Candy Cane lane on Front Street Winter Wonderland on Pine Avenue and Santa Coming to Town on Oglethorpe Boulevard.

The new LED lights displays that were 25-years old.

"It's like a new beginning for downtown with the developments coming in and just a lot of things going on downtown. We just really want the lights to be an added attraction to what that's already starting to take place downtown and we're really excited," City Marketing Manager Monique Broughton Knight.

The lights will be turned on right after Thanksgiving, and a 40-foot Christmas tree will be put up in the Plaza in front of the Government Center.
