LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Kids in Lee county got an up close look at the careers that keep our region running.

Friday kicked off the second annual Ag/Career Expo.

Students from Lee county Middle east, Lee county Middle west, Lee county Elementary and Twin Oaks Elementary participated in the event.

This year, around 50 businesses and colleges came to showcase the impact they have on the community.

"I just hope they see something they've never seen before," said Ag teacher Josh Drew.  "And then maybe it will put the thought in their mind that maybe that may be something they might enjoy one day.  Get their mind out of the box."

WALB was there along with several southwest Georgia businesses.
