ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Prosecutors told jurors today a 2013 Albany double murder was part of a gang war.
Jurors heard opening statements in the double murder trial of 22-year old Jawaski Kennedy who faces 26-counts of murder, aggravated assault and street gang terrorism.
Prosecutors say on March 17th, 2013, five members of the Westside Rattlers fired as many as 50 shots on Willard Avenue at homes of Southside Bloods gang members.
William Davis, Junior and Desmond Williams were killed.
The defense claims Kennedy was at his grandmother's house when the shooting happened.
Testimony will start tomorrow.
Four other defendants will be tried later.
