ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County was one of only 10 counties in the state of Georgia to offer early voting on Sunday.
It was a successful weekend at the polls.
Lines were long on both Saturday and Sunday.
At one point, the wait was over 3 hours.
1,044 people stood in line to vote.
The response has been positive because some voters can not make it out on election day.
"We want to let them know that this early voting option is available to them. As people, we like options, " said Ginger Nickerson, Elections Supervisor.
The last day for early voting is this Friday.
