Moody Airman dies in South Carolina

LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - Air Force officials issued a release over the weekend, saying that one of their service members died Friday.

They said that Senior Airman Sebastian Jenkins, an 822nd Base Defense Squadron fire team member, died at his hotel room, in Charleston, South Carolina, while he was off duty.

They said he was found unresponsive.

The release did not give details of the Airman's death, but said that local authorities are conducting an investigation and updates will be made as they become available.

"This is a very sad time for the 822nd Base Defense Squadron, as we mourn this loss of a team member," said Major Julia Jefferson, 822nd Base
Defense Squadron commander.

The USAF said that Jenkins is survived by his mother, Autumn H. Barton, and his father, Kirk E. Jenkins.
