CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

Brandon Scott Vinavong, 21, of Sylvester, has been found guilty the murder of Bobby Ferrell Anglon, who was killed in August of 2013.

The jury returned its verdict Friday, October 28, 2016. Judge Frank D. Horkan sentenced Vinavong to life in prison.

Anglon, 66, was shot multiple times, and killed at his residence at 8894 Morey Hill Road in Mitchell County on August 23, 2013.

Assistant District Attorney Banks Smith said, "I would like to thank the jury for ensuring that the defendant won’t be able to hurt anyone else for a long, long time. We were very fortunate to impanel such a diligent and attentive jury. It was very clear how serious they took their duty during the course of the trial."

At his arrest, Vinavong was charged with murder, armed robbery, burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Anglon's death was investigated by the Thomasville office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation; the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office; and the Worth County Sheriff's Office.
