ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany State University students react to the controversial presidential election.

Students said they've been following the candidates campaign trail and tuning into the debates.

Some said it's a very crucial time because important issues are at stake.

While others would prefer other candidates to be on the ballot.

"It's been a very crucial election because a lot of the issues that have been going on right now in the country from police brutality to healthcare. It's really split right now, the whole country is split," Willard Weston II.

"So far, it hasn't been very much to my approval, I wish that other candidates were available," said Laqaundra Paige.

Both students plan to vote early before the busy election day.
