Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital reached a milestone with it's Medical Student Housing Complex.
Phoebe held a topping out ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the success of safely reaching the highest point of construction, the roof.
"This project has been a long time coming. It actually is one of the last key components of our medical manpower development strategy," said CEO Joel Wernick with Phoebe Putney Health Systems.
Located across from the hospital, the $3.8 million facility will house 40 medical students during their residency at Phoebe.
Wernick said that students will be able to move in next summer.
