ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police and the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit have identified the suspect of a shooting near a convenience store.
Officials were called to the scene after shots were fired near Fairway Store on the 400 block of South Slappey Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
A witness reported that the victim was at Pace Convenience Store near the Air-Vac machine when Berrick Montez Redding, 20, started shooting at him from a parking lot near the store.
Both individuals left the scene before police arrived.
"Once on the scene, they gained knowledge that there was an individual that fired shots from one convenience store across the roadway to either another individual across the street at another gas station," said Phyllis Banks, APD Public Information Officer.
No injuries were reported.
One person was arrested but it was not related to the shooting.
Officials issued warrants against Redding for Reckless Conduct in the incident.
Investigators have not been able to identify or locate a victim at this time.
Police say they are checking store surveillance cameras and the case is still under investigation.
