LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Six teachers from Lee County are incorporating lessons in their classrooms that they learned from a legendary school in Atlanta.
Georgia Power hosted 65 educators from across the state at the third annual Ron Clark Academy training seminar.
It focused on increasing student engagement, ensuring academic rigor and enhancing student success in STEM subjects.
"It really was about student engagement starting with developing the relationship. All kinds of data and research shows the value of developing relationships between teachers and students. Students learn better when they feel connected to an adult in the building," said Lee County High School Assistant Principal Kenneth Roberts.
The educators plan to share the ideas they learned with other teachers and administrators in the Lee County system.
