ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Lawyers experience stress in their work and daily lives, but a new initiative focuses on helping them cope to keep them healthy.
On Wednesday, Dougherty county members of the Georgia State Bar gathered for a luncheon to learn about resources and discounts available to keep them mentally, socially, and physically healthy.
Chairman of Wellness Initiative and State Bar Treasurer Ken Hodges said he wanted to educate members about the living-well initiative and the programs available, that will improve their work and home lives.
"The legal profession has a high rate of alcoholism, depression, and burnout," he said . "If people are not happy with their work life, then they're not going to be happy dealing with their clients, and they're not going to be happy back at home. They won't be able to continue in the job."
