TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Visitors to ABAC can travel back in time to honor a Medal of Honor recipient.

The Freedom Gallery at ABAC opened last week.

The gallery tells the story of Second Lieutenant Harold "Pinky" Durham, a Tifton native.

Memorabilia including his uniforms and medal of honor are on display.

ABAC wants to use his life story to honor all veterans who have sacrificed their lives.

"It's an educational program to inform students, current and future about the importance of military service and the role of those who have served in the armed forces have played in providing freedom and liberty for all of us," said David Bridges, President of ABAC.

The exhibit is open to the public.

For questions, visiting hours or setting up a planned tour, call Lindsay Roberts, Director of Marketing and Communications, at (229) 391-5055.
