DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

If the voters approve, you may be able to go to dinner and have a drink any day of the week in Dawson.

It is one of the referendums that have made it on the ballot.

If passed, it will allow for the sale of alcohol by the drink on Sundays.

Right now, San Joe's Mexican Restaurant serves alcohol during the week.

One of the owners said they are busy most days.

He said being able to sell alcohol will only help business.

"Hopefully it will come. In fact I think it will make a lot of people happy and it will give our customers a choice of the beverage they want to drink. Those who want a margarita or beer on Sunday's will be able to and those that don't drink, they don't have to," said Ramiro Alvarez.

Just down the road in Sasser there is a referendum for the sale of malt liquor and wine at package stores on Sundays.
