LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -

There was a surprising and special homecoming Friday in Lowndes County.

Justin Aiken, a Lowndes County resident returned Friday morning from deployment.

His children thought he wasn't coming home until next Friday, so he surprised them at school Friday.

Aiken said that it was a hard secret to keep, but well worth the emotions it brought.

"That's really the thing to do when you come back from deployment you want to see that smile on their face since they haven't seen you in so long you want to do it in a big way," said Aiken.

The Aiken family said their first stop was to get some good food at their favorite restaurant, Osaka, now that dad has come home.
