An Arkansas row crop farmer received the title of Farmer of the Year just a few hours ago at the Sunbelt Ag Expo.
David Wildy from Manila Arkansas was selected from 10 other farmers who were state winners.
Wildy farms has more than 12,000 acres.
Wildy grows cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat.
He said he believes his family played a big role in receiving this honor.
"This is such an emotional high that I never dreamed would happen to our family and I want to include them to not focus strictly on me for farmer of the year because this award would not have been presented to me if it were not for my family," said Wildy.
Local, state and federal leaders attended the luncheon today that honored Wildy.
