ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two children critically injured in a D-U-I hit and run crash Saturday afternoon are improving. The Dougherty County Child Death Task Force is investigating their injury case.

4 year old LeRen Hardrick and 2 year old Jecoby Hardrick are still being treated at the trauma hospital in Macon, where they were airlifted Saturday.

Police say their father, 28 year old Jecoby Hardrick hit another car on Gillionville Road while the children were in his car, and drove off.
His mother later took the children to the hospital, where they were both in critical condition.

Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said "Their injuries were initially classified as critical, but they are now at the point of improving. That's the current status of the children."

Hardrick was taken to the hospital as well for treatment, but later charged with D-U-I less safe, serious injury by vehicle, and Hit and run.
