DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Robert Cross Middle Magnet School has made a name for itself on the national and state level.
The school received a five-star rating from the Georgia Department of Education for the second year in a row.
It is the only school in the county that received the distinction.
The rating comes as a result of an annual survey that students, faculty and parents all take.
The principal says it's the dedication from everyone that has made it possible.
"We have top performing students and an extraordinary faculty and staff and very supportive parents. So it takes all of us to get that distinction," said principal Thelma Chunn.
In addition the school was ranked one of the top 500 schools in the nation.
Chunn said this year the faculty is working hard to improve student's literacy scores.
