17-year-old charged with shooting involving a 9-year old

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A 17-year-old is facing multiple charges following a shooting involving a 9-year-old boy.

Keshawn Lyons, 17, was booked into the Dougherty Co. Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm.

The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. on the 300 block of Vintage Road.

According to officials, 9-year-old Terrance Demetrius Jordan was playing hide-and-seek with several other juveniles in the area when he heard a gunshot and was struck in the shoulder.

Officers responded to the scene and searched for possible suspects in the area. Four juveniles were found on bicycles a block away from the scene the incident happened.

One of the juveniles were found to have a handgun in a stolen backpack in his possession.

Further investigation by officers indicated that Lyons may have been responsible for shooting Terrance Jordan.

Jordan was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injury.

This incident still remains under investigation.
